Philosophy/General Purpose
Tamarak Country School offers an exciting, balanced program that blends social and cognitive, creative and structured, individual and group activities. Tamarak Country School is set on the magnificent 16-acre grounds of Tamarak Day Camp. The schoolhouse and multi-purpose gymnasium permits awareness of the beautiful surroundings.
The classrooms are spacious, bright, stimulating learning environments. We have all weather play surfaces, several playgrounds, large athletic fields as well as fields and trails for nature study and exploration. From Tiny Tots through our Full Day PreKindergarten Class, all Tamarak programs are rich in discovery and content.
We believe:
- If a child develops a positive attitude towards school, learning and about themselves at an early age, their future years will be happier and more successful.
- Though each child is important as an individual, they are also part of a group, and must learn to function in group situations.
- It is our responsibility to maximize the children's opportunities to learn at their own pace and level in a warm, supportive and stimulating environment.
- Low student-teacher ratios enable our staff to accomplish differentiated instruction for our students and enhance their overall learning and experience.
