Philosophy/General Purpose
At KinderCare Learning Companies, we believe the most powerful learning comes from a self-discovery process that actively engages a child’s critical-thinking skills. Children are natural learners who flourish in a responsive environment centered on respect, creativity, and joy. We promote an environment that encourages independence and allows children the freedom needed to become capable and confident
individuals. Through sensory play, experimentation, and meaningful interactions with other children and adults, we provide genuine opportunities for children to construct meaning from the world around them and to experience the excitement of new ideas, imagination, and exploration. It is a profound honor and responsibility to care for young children. At KLC, we believe that all children are worthy of an educational experience that allows them to create, share, take chances, and interact with the world around them. It’s through these collective experiences that children thrive, grow, and develop a lifelong love of learning.

- Our Early Foundations® curriculum is built on a comprehensive scope and sequence for all children 6 weeks to 5 years of age. It covers 6 critical domains including language and literacy development, social/emotional development, cognitive development, physical development and wellness, creative development, and executive function. It was specifically developed to align with state early learning standards and kindergarten expectations so parents would have confidence that their children have the skills necessary for kindergarten.
Early Foundations® allows children to be in both whole and small groups with other children who are at approximately the same developmental level. This helps children learn to play and work together and supports critical socialization skills.
Early Foundations® uses assessments as well as child portfolios to help families easily understand how their children are growing and learning during the school year and to support improved instructional practice. These assessments also give parents confidence that their children are achieving critical school readiness skills experiences while using our curriculum as a springboard for exploration.
