Adult Volunteers: Volunteer Remotely

No-Sew Blankets

No-Sew Blankets

Help make someone's day a little brighter! Here's how the blanket volunteer program works:

Community engagement is the most vital component of the library's volunteer program. In collaboration with volunteers, this service project supports our vulnerable community members - by providing donated throw blankets to local non-profit organizations. Delivered as care packages, the blankets are bundled with library material and bookmarks, also made by volunteers. The program continues to be successful due to dedicated volunteers who regularly contribute to completing the blankets in the comfort of their homes.

  1. Become a library volunteer by completing and submitting a volunteer application.
  2. Pick up pre-cut blanket fabric, the size of a large throw, and other supplies at the library.
  3. Complete blanket by cutting 1" fringe strips and knotting each strip.
  4. Deliver your completed blanket to the Adult Volunteer Coordinator Cory Sesko at volunteer@vapld.info.

Hats off to all the volunteers who have helped the library do more to serve the community!
