Staff Favorites

Melancholia

When a slowly encroaching planet threatens to collide with Earth, two sisters react in vastly different ways; a beautiful look at mental health and trauma.  —Emily

Emma

With the beautiful pastoral backgrounds, pretty costumes, and choral soundtrack, this Austen adaptation is a perfect watch for Spring. —Gina

Trollhunter

A unique found footage film about a group of students who discover the trolls of their Norwegian folklore are real. —Emily

Big Business

An 80's comedy where two sets of twins (played by the hilarious Lily Tomlin and Bette Midler) were switched at birth and they just happen to all be in New York City at the same time. Of course Bette Midler yodels with a street steel drum band. —Gina

Her

A poignant film about a lonely man who falls in love with his computer's advanced operating system. —Emily

Rear Window

One of my favorite Hitchcock movies where a man recuperating from a broken leg thinks he has seen a murder from his window and most of the action takes place in his apartment as he watches all his neighbors for proof.  —Gina
