Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Find an .STL file in one of two ways:
- Explore existing designs and download free files at Thingiverse, or
- Create your own design in Tinkercad (sign up for free).
2. Download the 3D printing file to your computer. It will be either an .STL or a .ZIP file. Please take a look at our 3D printing guideines here to make sure your print qualifies.
3. Fill out the 3D Printing Request form below. When you click "Choose File", you will be prompted to locate, select, and upload the .STL or .ZIP file from your computer. Please note that there is a 3 hour time limit. Prints over 3 hours will be automatically re-sized.
5. Submit the form.
Please Allow 1–2 weeks for your request to be processed. You'll be contacted when your print is ready for pickup or if there are any issues.

Please note that it may not always be possible to honor your color selection. Filament colors change every few weeks.
Commercial 3D Printing Services
If you would like to print a design that exceeds the library's 3D printing capabilities (your object is larger than 9.84"×8.3"×8.3" or will take longer than 3 hours to print), check with a commercial 3D printing service. Some services offer the option to print in materials other than PLA—such as other plastics, metals, or ceramics. Do a quick online search for 3D printing services or check one of these:
